LEARNING OBJECTIVES

What You’ll Learn

  • Recognize dangerous external bleeding and integrate scene safety, source access and whole-patient assessment.
  • Apply source-directed pressure reasoning and select escalation according to wound anatomy, severity and response.
  • Explain appropriate extremity tourniquet selection, placement, effectiveness checks, failure response and preservation.
  • Coordinate trained packing/adjunct use, patient-specific adaptation, reassessment and accurate transfer of ongoing hemorrhage control.
  • Construct and critique a hemorrhage-control plan that responds to failed methods and preserves task ownership, documentation and practical scope.
